Want to Volunteer?
We are always looking for parents to volunteer at our school! To be a volunteer you need to submit a Volunteer Application form and a TB Test.  Click on the link below to be directed to the district's application page.   Right now, the district is also processing fingerprinting for FREE for those who would like to volunteer in the classroom or for an extended period of time. SSC

School Site Council

The SSC is the decision-making council for all programs funded through the Consolidated Application (ConAp). The SSC is responsible for   the development of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), in consultation with the English Learner Advisory Committee, other relevant stakeholders and, where applicable,       the School Advisory Committee. The SSC is also responsible for meeting all school level federal parental involvement mandates including the development of the Title I parent involvement policy and budget (E046) and the Title I parent-school compact.    SSC meetings are always the  2nd Thursday of the month with the exception of emergency meetings.

ELAC

English Language Learner Advisory Committee

The ELAC provides written recommendations to the SSC regarding programs and services for English Learner (EL) students and the use of EIA-LEP funding to support their academic needs. The ELAC reviews student and parent    involvement data prior to submitting its written recommendations to the SSC. The ELAC also advises on the development of the Single Plan     for Student Achievement and the budget related to programs/services for ELs and assists in the review of the school’s language census. The committee meets at least six times per school year. ELAC meetings are always the 2nd Tuesday of the month with the exception of emergency meetings.  This year we do not have an ELAC.

Community Representative

Our Community Representative  is a member of our parent community who also has children attending Multnomah. Our rep this year is Jennifer Garcia and her main  responsibilities are to facilitate parent education workshops, and connect parents  with all stakeholders at the school site via Coffee with the Principal, psychologist, nurse, etc.  Ms. Garcia also communicates all events to  parents via posters, calendars, flyers, or Class  Dojo.

  • Parent involvement boosts student achievement.
  • Parent involvement is actually a better predictor of academic success than standardized tests.
  • Parent involvement is defined as "any  variety of activities that allows parents to participate in  the educational process at home or in the school. 
  • Parent involvement declines as students   age.
  • Teachers and schools can overcome    barriers to parent involvement by reaching out and building trusting relationships. 
 
 

PAT

Parent Action Team 

The PAT is a group of wonderful parents coming together facilitated by our Parent Representative of the school.  The PAT group supports our SPSA (School Plan for Student Achievement).  The main roles include, but are not limited to: Social Emotional Support, Attendance, and Culture and Climate. Parents in PAT also support us in getting our volunteer program in full function. They support us with school activities and fundraising. In the past, the funds raised have gone toward quality field trips and much needed school supplies, such as books in our library.   PAT meetings are always the first Wednesday of the month.

LSLC

Local School Leadership Council

Our LSLC is composed of elected parents and teachers. Per UTLA Collective Bargaining Agreement, Article XXVII, the LSLC has the decision making authority for 50% of the staff professional development, the student-discipline plan, schedules of school activities, and certain budgets.
