Welcome

Dear Students, Parents, and Multnomah Community,

Confucius said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."  Here at Multnomah, it's not only about where we have been but where we want to go. Established in 1949, Multnomah has earned the California Pivotal Practice Award, California Distinguished School Award, the Title 1 Achievement Award, the Bravo Award, LACOE Award and Magnet Achievement Award.  We will continue to plan, deliver, reflect, and revise our instructional foci in order to ensure that rigorous and relevant (culturally and standards-based) instruction is happening in every single classroom.

I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with our students and working with our teachers and you, our parents and community members. It takes all of us working together to keep our school safe, collaborative, and successful.

My main goal as an educator is to ensure that every child is given access to high-quality education in a safe and supportive learning environment.  We will continue to provide every child with the best academic and social-emotional opportunities.  All students will leave our school as critical and creative thinkers who are compassionate and confident, equipped with the skills and abilities to compete globally.

Elementary school is where students develop the foundational skills they will use the rest of their educational careers.  This is where students first develop and/or build reading, math, speaking, listening, and writing skills.  It is also where students cultivate social-emotional skills and develop a mindset for learning that they will carry into adulthood.  Let's create that strong unwavering foundation together!
